Ghost Bikes
We install ghost bike memorials for all cyclist fataliaties in Fort Smith.

Reflector Program
We give personal safey reflectors to vulnerable road users such as homeless people and children. To raise funds for this program, we also sell reflectors.

NWA Vulnerable Road User Summit
We sponsor a table for Fort Smith at this annual safety summit in Fayetteville. Hosted by the Arkansas Highway Safey Office, the summit brings together police departments, civil engineers, urban planners, and community leaders to discuss and learn about roadway safety.

Trail Counter
We sponsored (in part) a trail counter for the Greg Smith River Trail in Fort Smith.

Finance Decoder
We are participating in a group effort to produce a report comparing and contrasting some of the important financial characteristics of various cities in Northwest Arkansas and The River Valley. Once complete, we expect the report to be published and to show that safer cities and neighborhoods correlate with increased financial productivity.

Land Value Tax
We are preparing a plan for a specialized tax zone in downtown Fort Smith where all sales and improved property taxes are reduced to zero, and instead replaced with a land value tax. If implemented, this will test whether safe design can be implemented and encouraged by market force, not government force (we believe it can).

Crash Analysis Studios
We plan to review and analyze crash data for various fatalities in Fort Smith to empirically show that the city's fatality epidemic is not due to individual drivers or citizens. Safety is a collective responsibility that we all share.

YouTube
To encourage civic engagement, we plan to launch a YouTube channel celebrating Fort Smith in a way that our official city channel cannot. This may include restaurant reviews, "night out" vlogs, history/architecture tours, etc.

School Drop-Off / Pickup
As a result of two children struck by vehicles after school in 2024, we plan to analyze school drop-off and pickup procedures and develop a testable pilot to improve safety at one or more target schools.

Single-Stair Fire Code
We support the statewide initiative to allow for single-stair buildings above three stories high. For Fort Smith, this would mean allowing smaller-scale real estate developers to make investments in Fort Smith, helping fill in many of the gaps of our overextended infrastructure.

We have a newsletter with updates for all of the above and more! Link coming soon.
